I earned my BA in Literature from the University of California in Santa Cruz and was part of the small but prestigious creative writing program. My emphasis was on poetry. I have been a publishing poet since graduation.
I am also a transcriptionist, scopist, and proofreader for court reporters. My formal training according to NCRA guidelines comes from Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice™, an intensive program with rigorous testing. Course completion required proofreading more than 3,000 transcript pages covering a wide variety of topics. Transcripts included hearings, depositions, examinations under oath, interpreted proceedings, and expert testimony.
Working on court transcripts complements my passion for writing poetry. The technicalities associated with transcripts provide the perfect mental exercise allowing me to catch errors within any type of writing.
You may find work samples and my published poetry in the Portfolio.
I operate my business on the road full-time! With my partner and dog, I live, work, and travel in a converted school bus known as a skoolie. We chase an endless summer all over the world. You can check out our adventures here!
